Architecture Minor
The Minor in Architecture is intended to introduce students to architecture fundamentals and to cultivate an appreciation for buildings, cities, and environments and their role in society. The minor includes foundational coursework, such as ARCH 1144 Architecture for Non-Architects or ARCH 1110 Introduction to Design Processes I, which provides an overview of the discipline by highlighting contemporary issues of architecture worldwide with a focus on introductory methods of design and representation. The minor also includes architectural history courses, highlighting the importance of global historical and cultural contexts, and open architecture electives, allowing students to explore their own interests. The Minor in Architecture is open to all students at Washington University in St. Louis outside of the College of Architecture.
At least 12 of the 15 credit units must be applied exclusively to the minor and cannot be counted toward another major or minor. Architecture track courses count toward the minor.
Students interested in the minor should contact the minor advisor.
