The Master of Arts (MA) in Speech and Hearing Sciences requires a minimum of 30 credit units of graduate coursework — generally drawn from graduate-level coursework offered through the Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences (PACS) and/or integrated into the PhD in Speech and Hearing Sciences curriculum — and the successful completion of a culminating or qualifying examination equivalent to that required by the PhD program. Students must also maintain satisfactory academic progress (minimum cumulative program GPA is 3.0 or higher) and fulfill residence requirements (a minimum of one-year of full-time enrollment).
The MA in Speech and Hearing Sciences may be awarded to students for work done in the PhD in Speech and Hearing Sciences if they are leaving the PhD program without completing it. The minimum requirements listed must be completed for the student to be eligible for this master's program in lieu of the PhD option.
