Germanic Languages and Literatures Minor

Program Requirements

  • Total units required: 16

Required Courses

Students who intend to minor in German must complete 16 units of course work (German 202D Intermediate German: Core Course IV and above) with a grade of C- or higher. With the exception of German 3400, only courses taught in German will count toward the minor. At least 3 of the 16 required units must be at the 400 level.

Additional Information

  • At least half of the courses at the 300 level and above must have been acquired either in residence at Washington University or in overseas programs affiliated with Washington University.
  • Any credits obtained at the 300 or 400 level during the summer institute program in Göttingen may count toward the minor.
