The Creative Practice for Social Change Minor (15 credits) allows students to apply creative practices from art, design, and architecture to address systemic economic, environmental, and social challenges.

DESIGN 2310 Design in Social Systems (3 credits) is required; students must take four additional 3-credit courses tagged FA Creative Practice Social Change (12 credits). No more than 3 credits may be taken outside of the Sam Fox School.

At least 12 of the 15 credits must be applied exclusively to the minor and cannot be counted toward another major or minor. For students who declare this minor in fall 2026 and later, this double counting restriction includes the Sam Fox Electives required for the BA, the BFA, and second majors in the College of Art.
