The Design Minor (15 credits) allows students to mix and match courses in areas such as communication design, fashion design, and the illustrated book studio to suit their interests and schedules. For students earning degrees in the College of Art, the minor is available to non-design majors only. Courses tagged FA Design Minor fulfill this requirement.
At least 12 of the 15 credits must be applied exclusively to the minor and cannot be counted toward another major or minor. For students who declare this minor in Fall 2026 and later, this double-counting restriction includes the Sam Fox Electives required for the BA, the BFA, and second majors in the College of Art.
