  • Grade Requirement: C- or better; Pass/No Pass grades do not count for the major.

One of the following courses:
MUSIC 3014 Ethnomusicology or MUSIC 3015 American Popular Music and Media or MUSIC 3016 Topics in Music History & Culture or MUSIC 3019 The Invention of Classical Music3

Elective Courses

Students must complete 9 units of elective courses in music, of which 6 units must be at the 3000 level or above. 

Additional Information

  • A grade of C- or better is required for courses to count toward the music minor.
  • Up to 6 credits earned via study abroad and/or transfer are allowed upon department approval.
  • Students whose interests are not served by these requirements may apply to the department chair with an alternative proposal.
